COTS
For more than 35 years, COTS has been committed to serving the most vulnerable members of the Detroit community. COTS provides shelter, housing and support to more than 1,200 people annual - 60 percent of whom are children. With a rich continuum of programs and services that empower people, COTS is continually committed to creating opportunities to succeed. COTS programming includes a family-only emergency shelter; long-term supportive housing with assistance for addiction, disability or illness; and childcare for infants and toddlers at Bright Beginnings Child Development Center. COTS offers more than just beds - we offer hope help and housing. Our Passport to Self-Sufficiency assists families in reaching their housing, economic, health, education and career goals through coaching, mentorship and support as they overcome homelessness and break the cycle of poverty for the next generation and beyond. COTS doesn't do this work alone. Partners are at the heart of every act of service shown to the families that come through our doors. The generosity of every person, organization or corporation that offers their treasure, talent or time to COTS goes to support the services that target the root causes of homelessness and foster household stability.
