Bart Friedman

Bart Friedman serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors at Giant Eagle, Inc. since October 2020, having previously held the role of Lead Independent Director. Friedman is a Partner and Senior Counsel at Cahill Gordon & Reindel since September 1970 and has been a Trustee at The Brookings Institution since September 1997, where Friedman chairs the Audit Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee. Other significant roles include Trustee at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, where Friedman chairs the Compensation and HR Committee, and Lead Director on the Board of Directors at Ovid Therapeutics since January 2017. Additionally, Friedman is a member of the Membership Committee at the Council on Foreign Relations and serves as Chairman Emeritus of Works and Process at the Guggenheim Museum. Friedman has been a Senior Advisor at Concordia since March 2020 and previously chaired the Board of Directors for AB Bernstein until April 2020. Friedman holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and has an educational background from Harvard Business School.
