Alex Smith

Alex Smith is Partner, Managing Director & Wealth Advisor with Cresset’s San Francisco office. He advises clients on their overall balance sheet, including private and public investments, credit and liquidity needs, and estate and charitable planning. He specializes in working with financial principals, real estate investors, entrepreneurs, executives of public and private companies, and high-net-worth families.

Prior to Cresset, Alex spent more than 11 years with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in New York and San Francisco.

Alex graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Delaware. He is an active member with Larkin Street Youth Services, which is a Bay Area nonprofit that assists at-risk youth get off the streets through housing, education, and work programs.

Alex and his wife, Emily, live in San Francisco with their dog, Elsie. On the weekends they enjoy relaxing in Tahoe, exploring wine country, or taking on home improvement projects.
