Kiana Aran currently serves as the Co Director for the Center for Technologies for Healthy Aging at the UC San Diego Institute of Engineering in Medicine, as well as an Associate Professor at both the UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering and the UC San Diego School of Medicine. In addition, Kiana Aran holds the position of Innovation Advisor and Chief Innovation Officer at Paragraf® and is a Co-Founder and Board Member at CRISPR QC. Kiana Aran is also a Member of the New Voices NASEM initiative and the Founder of Aran Nebula, a nonprofit organization. Previous experience includes serving as Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Cardea Bio Inc., and Associate Professor at Keck Graduate Institute, along with a consultancy role for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Rutgers University and postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley.
