Ville Kurkinen

Ville Kurkinen is the Chief Architect at CUJO AI. Ville was previously the Principal Architect, Security Research & Technologies at F-Secure Corporation from September 2014 to February 2020. Ville was responsible for leading the backend architecture of a complex cyber security service and the primary technical responsible for a highly concurrent large scale backend solution for a neal real-time event processing system. Their focus was on high traffic (+100k events / sec) event processing engine processing sensitive data, and its associated support systems (monitoring, alarming, micro-service architecture model), DevOps operations in 24/7 mission critical services with hundredths of server instances and thousands of docker containers in a cost efficient manner. Ville also designed and specified the security and access control mechanisms for all backend services, data storages, APIs, UIs, in AWS cloud (following the AWS Well-Architected Frameworks). In addition, they designed and implemented a Complex Event Processing engine for near real time machine learning based anomaly detections from streaming event data. Ville was also responsible for designing and specifying Big Data services integration to the solution in a secure manner using cloud environments (mostly AWS). Ville was a member of solution wide steering group work and maintained and developed company wide AWS deployment tooling.

Ville Kurkinen has a Master of Science in Neural Networks / Computer Networks from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan. Ville also has certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional. Additionally, they have certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in AWS Certified Security – Specialty.
