Marjanne van Vliet

Marjanne van Vliet currently serves as the Head of Programmes at Folkekirkens Nødhjælp (DanChurchAid) since January 2024, leading programmatic implementation and stakeholder engagement. Previously, Marjanne held various roles at ZOA from June 2011 to January 2024, including Country Director for Syria, where strategic decisions on portfolio development were guided, and Director of Operations for Sudan, focusing on streamlined organizational support. Additional experience includes an Interim Operations Manager position in Ethiopia, contributions to the Disaster Response Team in setting up emergency operations, and a role as Financial Controller overseeing financial management across programme countries. Marjanne's early career included positions in econometrics and refugee support education, following a strong academic background with a Master's in Rural Development Economics and a Bachelor's in International Development Studies from Wageningen University & Research.
