Akhil Gupta

Akhil Gupta is the Vice President of Commercial Operations at Dandy. Akhil has over fifteen years of experience in the technology industry, including stints in investment banking, venture capital, and operations.

Akhil began their career in investment banking, working first at Thomas Weisel Partners and then at Barclays. In 2010, they joined KangarooHealth Inc. as the Head of Business Operations. Akhil left KangarooHealth after six months to become an advisor and investor for early-stage startups.

In 2017, Akhil joined Uber as the Head of Driver Operations & GM for US & Canada Rides. In this role, they were responsible for the supply side of Uber's $25B rideshare marketplace. Akhil grew the market share, improved driver experience, and increased the value proposition to drivers. Akhil also led a team of 25 high performers and managers.

Under Akhil's leadership, Uber's US & Canada Mobility business' quarterly revenue grew 8% and profitability by over 10% amid strong downward business pressure from the COVID-19 pandemic. In May 2021, they left Uber to join Dandy as the Vice President of Commercial Operations.

Akhil Gupta has a MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a BS in Computer Engineering (Honors) from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

They are on a team with and Michael Fitch - AVP, Commercial Sales. Their manager is Evan Peters, Chief Commercial Officer. Brandon Fierro - Head of Lab Operations, William Foster - Head of Revenue Operations, and Jamie Joseph - Head of People Operations report to Akhil Gupta.
