Soumit Roy

Soumit Roy is the EVP, Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Daseke. Prior to joining Daseke, Soumit was an attorney and counselor at Ferguson Braswell Fraser Kubasta PC from July 2013 to August 2017. At Ferguson Braswell Fraser Kubasta PC, Soumit provided direct legal support to management teams and helped complete deals and projects from initial planning stages through the execution of agreements. Soumit also provided legal advice to management teams regarding potential legal liabilities of planned actions and deals, as well as, monitoring and advising management teams of compliance responsibilities.

Soumit has a wealth of experience in various legal fields and industries. Soumit has provided counsel and guidance in corporate formation, securities, compliance, acquisition, intellectual property, financing, real estate, employment law, marketing, PCI compliance, e-commerce, privacy, DMCA, software & information technology, entrepreneurship & start-ups, social media, licensing, and non-profit organizations. Soumit Roy attended The University of Texas School of Law and received their Juris Doctor degree. Soumit also holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from The University of Texas at Austin, one in Molecular Biology and the other in Biochemistry. In addition, they have a High School Diploma from Clear Creek High School. Soumit is also a certified mediator and a patent attorney.

Soumit Roy reports to Jonathan Shepko, Interim Chief Executive Officer and Independent Director. They work with Angie Moss - Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, Julie Hoagland - SVP, Chief People Officer, and Matt Cacace - Senior Vice President.
