Gene Hayes

An Atlanta-area native, Gene has devoted his legal career of over 20 years to the practice of labor and employment law. Prior to moving back to Atlanta and joining Davidson in November 2019, he spent nearly 20 years in Memphis, TN, where he served as a senior in-house attorney at FedEx Freight. At FedEx, Gene was responsible for all aspects of traditional labor law as well as employment law advice and counsel. Previously, Gene also practiced with the national labor and employment firm of Jackson Lewis P.C. Gene earned a B.A. in history and political science and an M.A.T. from Rice University as well as a J.D. from Emory University School of Law.

About once a month you can find Gene back in Memphis playing drums for WALRUS, an 80s alternative cover band.
