Mathilde Defrenne

Mathilde Defrenne currently serves as the Head of Sustainability for Retail & Business at Decathlon France, a position held since March 2020, where responsibilities include supporting the transformation of retail and business activities, implementing strategies to mitigate climate change, eliminate waste, and promote circular economies and social responsibility. Prior experience at Decathlon Belgium from September 2015 to March 2020 includes roles as Sustainability Leader, Responsable Financier, and Department Manager. Mathilde's earlier positions include an internship at microStart focused on enhancing visibility for entrepreneurs without traditional financial access, a student assistant role at Sodexo, a reception agent at the Royal Belgium Institute of Natural Sciences, and a multilingual investigator at Belspo. Mathilde holds an Advanced Master’s in European Microfinance from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Université libre de Bruxelles, and a Master’s degree in Business Engineering from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.
