Andrew Scarsbrook is an experienced policy leader in environmental and marine strategy, currently serving as Head of delegation to OSPAR for the UK and head of UK Marine Strategy policy at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since December 2020. Previously, Andrew held positions as Team Leader for Marine EU Exit and Senior Policy Advisor for the Marine Strategy Framework Directive at DEFRA, focusing on aligning UK marine policies with EU regulations. Andrew's expertise also includes sustainable business practices and resource efficiency, demonstrated through leading guidance projects on corporate environmental impacts and serving as Policy Lead on European Chemicals Legislation. Andrew's career began in the Department for Education, where initiatives were developed to enhance primary education through the Excellence in Cities program. Andrew holds a Master's degree in Human Factors from the University of Nottingham and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Consumer Sciences from Northumbria University.
