Sophie Chapman

Sophie Chapman has over 15 years of experience in policy leadership and governance, currently serving as the Head of Peatland Policy at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since May 2022. Prior to this role, from April 2018 to October 2022, Sophie held the position of Head of Peatland Recovery within the same department. Sophie's experience also includes serving as the Head of Governance Strategy at the Cabinet Office and the Board Secretary & Head of Governance at the Department of Energy and Climate Change. Additionally, Sophie's earlier roles included Senior Policy Advisor at the Cabinet Office and various positions with organizations like Merton & Lambeth CAB, Citizens Advice, and the Refugee Council. Sophie holds a degree from the University of Liverpool, completed in 2001.
