Boris Nemsic

Non-executive Partner, Dubai at FTI Delta

Boris is the Chairman of the Delta Partners Board of Directors. He is also a Director of some of Delta Partners’ Fund I and Fund II companies.

Boris brings with him deep telecoms, media and tech (TMT) experience with a career that spans over 25 years across different geographies. He was CEO of VimpelCom OJSC, the second largest Russian integrated telecom operator with 65 million customers in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, and Georgia as well as greenfield operations in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Boris was also CEO of Telekom Austria Group from 2006 to 2009, and Mobilkom Austria (now A1 Telekom Austria) from 2000 to 2009. During this period he built the Telekom Austria’s wireless division, Mobilkom Austria, into one of Europe’s leading mobile operators group in eight countries in the CEE region before taking the helm at Telekom Austria.

Boris is a world class manager, named one of Europe’s top five telecom CEOs by Institutional Investor in 2007. Boris has led the transformation of the telecom industry through his strategy of promoting innovation and service and also with his advocacy for a market-driven regulatory climate that encourages investment. During his board membership at the GSMA, Boris was Chairman of the GSMA Public Policy Committee.

Boris is currently Chairman of the Board at two telecom technology companies, I-New and at Cellwize. He is also a Member of the Board at Frequentis AG and Chairman of the Advisory Board at Infobip.

Boris received a PhD in Technology from the Technical University of Vienna in 1990, and has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Sarajevo Technical University. He is fluent in German, English, Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian, and has a basic knowledge of Russian.
