Brian Harrell

Brian Harrell serves as the Vice President and Chief Security Officer at AVANGRID, where leadership focuses on reducing risk through cybersecurity, privacy, threat intelligence, and resilience. Additionally, Brian is an appointed member of the TSA Security Advisory Committee and holds positions on the Boards of Directors for the Security Industry Association, Global Cyber Security Hall of Fame, Northeast Gas Association, and Yankee Atomic Power Company. Brian also contributes to advisory roles at SecurityScorecard and Shooter Detection Systems. Educational qualifications include a Master’s in Homeland Security from Penn State University, an Executive Leaders Program certificate from the Naval Postgraduate School, and degrees from Central Michigan University and Hawaii Pacific University. Brian's extensive experience is further evidenced by continued engagement with the U.S. Department of Energy's Electricity Advisory Committee and the Homeland Security Advisory Council at Penn State.
