Garrett Smith is an experienced professional in nuclear safety and regulatory compliance, currently serving as the Director of the Office of Nuclear Safety at the U.S. Department of Energy since February 2009. In this role, Garrett Smith establishes nuclear safety policy requirements to protect workers, the public, and the environment from hazards associated with nuclear operations. Prior to this position, Garrett Smith held the role of Director in the Office of Nuclear Safety Basis and Facility Design, focusing on the analysis and design requirements of nuclear facilities.
