James Haug serves as the Associate Director of the Hydrogen Hubs program at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), overseeing a $7 billion federal initiative aimed at enhancing clean hydrogen infrastructure and energy security in the United States. Prior experience includes a decade at Shell, where James held several leadership roles, including General Manager of Downstream & New Fuels Projects for the Americas and Chief Engineer for a global team of approximately 4,000 engineers. James also contributed to Bechtel Corporation as Corporate Chief Engineer of Quality, managed technical and operational issues at Raytheon as Senior Manager, and served as a Senior Staff Engineer at Lockheed Martin. Earlier career highlights include test operations leadership at Boeing - Rocketdyne for the RS-68 hydrogen-fueled rocket engine, which earned James the 2007 AIAA Propulsion Young Engineer Award. Academic qualifications include an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
