Lauren Solomon currently serves as a Special Adviser on AI Governance at the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, a position held since April 2024. Previously, Lauren held numerous prominent roles, including Board Member at the Energy and Water Ombudsman (Victoria) and Lead in AI Governance at the University of Technology Sydney. As Chief Executive Officer of the Consumer Policy Research Centre from May 2017 to December 2021, Lauren demonstrated strong leadership within the sector. With experience on the boards of the Energy Efficiency Council and AGL Energy, and various managerial roles at AGL Energy and the Clean Energy Council, Lauren possesses extensive expertise in policy, governance, and consumer advocacy. Lauren holds an academic background in Resource Economics from the University of Sydney, and advanced leadership training from institutions including Stanford University and the London School of Economics.
