We are looking for an enthusiastic Automation Engineer for our IT.services team. As an Automation Engineer, you are responsible for discovering, analyzing, developing, and delivering solutions to support our operational units, projects, and central staff departments of DIVD.academy.

Automation Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and improving our current automation platform.
  • Being able to build and automate infrastructure services in teams (virtual infrastructure, containers, etc.).
  • Answer questions from other volunteers within DIVD.academy and support them in bulk actions by writing scripts.
  • The concepts behind security-by-design and privacy-by-design are essential to you, and you implement them in every project.
  • Actively participate in team meetings.
  • Help and guide new employees and interns.
  • You keep track of the status of all activities via ticket systems and planning and support tools.
  • You will do this by phone, chat, email, remote support, and video conferencing.

Automation Engineer Requirements:

  • We consider motivation more important than knowledge and skills
  • You recognize repetitive tasks and take the initiative to automate them.
  • You are no stranger to the Terminal, and you know how to navigate the file system and edit files without using a GUI.
  • You have experience programming or scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
  • You are familiar with creating documentation for technical and non-technical users.
  • Good knowledge of network infrastructure and network hardware
  • A self-starter who can work independently but feels comfortable in a team
  • Flexible and proactive attitude
  • Affinity with processes such as ITIL is preferred. The focus is on preventing and solving incidents and on structured changes
  • Keeping good records is a MUST!

Nice to have:

  • A bachelor's degree in an Information Technology-related field of study with a network engineering focus is a plus.
  • Experience with automating infrastructure and operational processes.
  • Experience with databases.
  • Knowledge of Docker Containerization and Virtualisation is a plus.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with deployment, monitoring, and the configuration of environments.
  • Some experience working within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
