Job description

We are searching for a head of Education to develop new curricula across various disciplines in the DIVD academy. The head of Education must improve teaching practices through collaboration with staff, volunteers, and students. You should be able to use new and existing resources to ensure student needs are met and educational goals are achieved. You will authorize textbook acquisitions and, on occasion, be tasked with writing your educational materials.

To be successful as a head of Education, you should stay up-to-date with pedagogical theories and developments in Education. An exceptional head of Education should have superb people skills and be confident in engaging individuals from various backgrounds and disciplines. You should be energetic, passionate, and able to communicate objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing new curricula with the help of teachers, students, and other staff.
  • Networking and building professional relationships with the volunteers of the academy and the DIVD community.
  • Monitoring the progress of new and existing teaching methods.
  • Closely evaluate results at the end of each quarter and write progress reports.
  • Supervising the recruitment and vetting of prospective teachers.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and scheduling workshops for new and existing staff.

Education Director Requirements:

  • A solid ethical code.
  • First-class organizational skills.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and be open to feedback.
  • Teaching certification and previous teaching experience.
  • The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ability and patience to draft several documents and policies.
  • The ability to use tact and diplomacy in interactions with all relevant parties.

Nice to have:

  • Speaks fluently in Dutch.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Customer-service oriented with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Master's degree in education administration or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism
