Maria J. García-León has over 17 years of work experience in the field of biomedicine. In 2023, they began working as a Senior Research Scientist at Domain Therapeutics. From 2017 to 2023, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at Inserm, where they were responsible for a multidisciplinary project studying the role of platelets in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) metastasis. In 2003, they were an undergraduate student at the Academic Medical Center, where they were involved in experimental research on human enteric cancer pathogenesis.
Maria J. García-León obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences, General from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2005. Maria J. then attended Hydra XI Summer School for Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine. In 2016, they received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Biology and Immunology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Maria J. also holds a Master's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the same institution.
