William So is the current head of data science at Douugh. Prior to this, they were a co-author at Packt and a senior data scientist at Analytics8 Australia. At Analytics8, they delivered a real-time anomaly detection POC to the Transport Management Centre to alert their operators of incidents or unusual congestions as soon as possible. William also built forecasts models using ML algorithms on AWS for major roads in Sydney to inform drivers of their optimal travel time and to influence their decisions. A product they released to the public before the June Long Week End resulted in 13 000 views over 4 days and observed a significant decrease of cars on peak hours over the June long Week End compared to previous years. In addition to this, they delivered ad-hoc analysis on roads performances for internal and external stakeholders to support them make decisions on how to improve roads conditions. William also delivered a monthly report on roads performances used by stakeholders including newspapers and TV channels to communicate on Sydney roads conditions. Furthermore, they delivered a big data platform on AWS centralising key datasets (travel time, volume counter, incidents or road configuration) in order to increase the analytical capabilities of RMS. Lastly, at Toyota, they improved an existing NLP solutions analysing survey data from customer's feedbacks on cars and services. As a result of their work, the solution was automated and capable of analysing (10,000+) surveys per month with an accuracy of 92% (previously 63%) for sentiment and 87% for classification. This work helped improve customer satisfaction by identifying the worst feedback and integrating it via training to staff or as additional offered services for customers.

William So has a specialized master's degree in business intelligence from CY Tech, as well as nanodegrees in data streaming, natural language processing, and deep learning from Udacity. William also has a certification in SAS programming and another in SAS BI content development.
