Birte Schorpion

Birte Schorpion is a seasoned professional in the field of migration law and advocacy, currently serving as a Senior EU Advocacy Advisor and Regional Advocacy Coordinator for the Danish Refugee Council since March 2017. In this role, Birte leads regional advocacy engagements and supports country offices across Europe, focusing on policy analysis related to displacement and humanitarian work. With a strong academic background including a Master of Laws in Immigration Law from Queen Mary University of London and extensive experience with organizations such as UNHCR and the European Council on Refugees and Exiles, Birte has contributed significantly to legal protection and asylum policy. Additionally, as a Teaching Assistant at Universiteit Gent, Birte teaches master courses on asylum and migration law and supervises dissertations within that field.
