Jesko von Windheim is a distinguished academic and entrepreneur with extensive experience in environmental innovation and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as a Professor of the Practice at Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment since July 2012, Jesko has held leadership roles in multiple companies, including President and CEO of Tyrata, Inc. from January 2018 to October 2023, where the focus was on real-time tire tread wear monitoring solutions. Prior to that, Jesko was CEO of Zenalux Biomedical, Inc., which developed advanced biophotonic tools for cancer diagnostics, and founded Nextreme Thermal Solutions, overseeing strategy and governance. Additional experience includes roles at RTI International, JDS Uniphase, and Cronos Integrated Microsystems, complemented by an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Guelph.
