Melissa Perez

Melissa Perez, M.A., MSA, NBCT, currently serves as a Principal Intern at Durham Public Schools since June 2024. Previously, Melissa held the position of World Languages Coordinator at Durham Public Schools and has extensive experience as a French and Spanish teacher, coordinating an elective teacher department and teaching various language levels, including Spanish for Heritage Speakers. Additionally, Melissa managed an after-school program at Brogden Middle School, overseeing a staff of ten and ensuring student safety and academic success. Earlier experience includes teaching in Pender County Schools for four years. Melissa holds a Master's degree in Spanish Phonetics & Linguistics/Curriculum Development from Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana and a Bachelor's degree in French/Spanish with NC Teacher Licensure from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Currently, Melissa is pursuing a Master of School Administration at North Carolina Central University, set to complete in May 2025.
