Lance M. Braunstein

CIO

Lance Braunstein is the current Chief Information Officer (CIO) at E*Trade Financial. Lance has been in this role since September of 2017 and oversees the company's technology strategy, software development, information security, infrastructure, and technical operations. Prior to joining ETrade, Braunstein served as the Managing Director of Technology at Goldman Sachs from October 2008 to April 2016. In this role, they were responsible for heading up the client platforms and banking technology initiatives. From February 1998 to October 2008, they held a similar role at Morgan Stanley in the Wealth Management division. In April 2016, they joined OptionsHouse as their CIO before the company was acquired by ETrade in September of 2017.


Braunstein began their career in 1995 as a managing partner at Systems Engineering Group. Lance then spent two years as a scientist at Hughes before joining Goldman Sachs in 1998.


Lance Braunstein's educational career includes a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Rochester, a Master of Science in Atmospheric Science from Colorado State University, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from The Wharton School.
