Julie Southern

Julie Southern is an experienced business professional, currently serving as an independent non-executive director at easyJet. Julie has also held positions at DFS Group Limited, Cineworld, Stagecoach, Rentokil Initial, NXP Semiconductors, and Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Southern began their career in 1988 as finance director at WHSmith, H J Chapman Ltd. Julie then moved to Porsche Cars GB Ltd. in 1996, where they served as group finance director for four years. In 2000, they joined Virgin Atlantic Airways as chief commercial officer, a position they held for 13 years. In this role, they were responsible for sales, revenue management & pricing, fleet & network planning, marketing, HR, commercial strategy, legal & sustainability.

Southern has been a non-executive director at easyJet since 2015. Julie is also a member of the board of Cineworld and Stagecoach.

Julie Southern has a degree in economics from the University of Cambridge and a diploma from West Kirby Grammar School.
