David Mendez Lopez

David Mendez is a seasoned software developer with extensive experience in the field of bioinformatics, currently working at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) since January 2016 in the ChEMBL group. Previous roles include contractor at Universidad de los Andes, where contributions involved correcting a virtual course on Object Oriented Programming in Java and creating an online version of the course book, and serving as CMS Offline Release Manager at CERN, automating release workflows and maintaining the CMSSW Integration Build Portal. David also has a background in academia as a lecturer and research assistant at Universidad de los Andes, where expertise in Java programming was shared with students. David holds a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Systems and Computing Engineering from Universidad de los Andes.
