John Bendermacher

John Bendermacher is an accomplished auditing professional with extensive experience in internal audit and compliance. Currently serving as Chief Internal Auditor at Euroclear since May 2019, John also holds the position of President of ECIIA (European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditing) from October 2021 to June 2024. Previous roles include Directeur Group Audit at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. and SNS REAAL, as well as Chief Audit Executive and Chief Compliance Officer ad interim at Robeco. John’s career began at Rijksaccountantsdienst Belastingdienst and De Nederlandsche Bank, culminating in over four decades of expertise in the field. Educational qualifications include a Certified Auditing degree from NIVRA and a Certified Internal Auditor credential from the Institute of Internal Auditors.
