Ian Hawthorne

Ian Hawthorne is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in mechanical and manufacturing engineering. Currently serving as MEH Engineering Manager for BNI & BOP Piping at EDF (UK) since October 2023, Ian is responsible for leading design and engineering activities while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and cost standards. Previously, Ian held the position of MEH Engineering Manager for HVAC at EDF (UK) and worked as a Principal Engineer at Atkins for over a decade, specializing in multi-discipline design projects and high-pressure systems. Ian's career began at RWE npower as a Mechanical Engineer and features foundational experience as a Shift Manager at McDonalds and as a Placement Student in QA Manufacturing at NACCO Materials Handling Group. Ian holds a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from Queen's University Belfast.
