Dr Jayshree Thakrar

Dr. Jayshree Thakrar is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in education and development, currently serving as the Head of MELA at EdTech Hub since July 2021. This global research partnership focuses on enhancing the use of technology in education within low- and middle-income countries, supported by leading donors such as FCDO and the World Bank. Previously, Dr. Thakrar worked as a Project Manager with FCDO Tanzania to strengthen education governance and technical support for teacher continuing professional development, and held multiple consultancy roles with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Tetra Tech, Chemonics International, and others, focusing on monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks. Dr. Thakrar has a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Sciences from the University of Fort Hare and holds several advanced degrees in education and accountancy, demonstrating a strong academic foundation supporting a dedication to inclusive educational development.
