Sakari Puisto

Sakari Puisto currently serves as the Minister of Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment in Finland since June 2025, and has been a Member of Parliament since April 2019. In addition, Puisto is a City Councillor for the City of Tampere, holding this position since April 2017. Prior roles include membership on the Parliamentary Supervisory Council at the Bank of Finland from June 2023 to June 2025, and serving as Vice Chairman on the Supervisory Board of Finnfund until September 2023. Other notable positions include board membership at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs and council membership at the Finnish National Gallery. Puisto has an educational background with a Doctor of Philosophy, as well as MA and BA(Hons) degrees in Physical Sciences from the University of Cambridge, completed from 1998 to 2004.
