Sofia Virta

Sofia Virta has extensive experience in public service and child welfare, currently serving as a Member of Parliament in the Parliament of Finland since April 2019, actively participating in the Social Affairs and Health Committee as well as the Employment and Equality Committee. In addition to this role, Sofia has been a member of the City Government and Council Member for the City of Kaarina and the Regional Council of Southwest Finland since 2017. Sofia has operated as a self-employed professional under VIRTA - Terapia & Opetus since August 2017 and has held project worker positions at VS-FinFami ry since September 2016. Previous experience includes working as a Child Welfare Worker and Foster Care Worker, providing support and care to children and young people. Sofia holds a Master of Education in Special Education and Teaching from the University of Turku and has completed additional educational qualifications in the field.
