Aaron Schacht

Aaron Schacht serves as executive vice president, Innovation, Regulatory, and Business Development at Elanco. In this role, he oversees global R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Business Development. With a focus on ideas, products and technologies that address customers’ unmet needs, he applies his passion for scientific discovery to pursue innovative animal health solutions. Schacht and his team collaborate with scientists, animal caretakers, and product developers to discover and develop products that aim to enhance the health and longevity for companion and food animals.

Schacht began his career in R&D more than 30 years ago brings diverse experiences and expertise in life science innovation to this position. He enjoyed a distinguished career at Eli Lilly and Company serving in a variety of leadership and strategic management roles across Elanco’s former pharmaceutical company parent. He joined the Elanco senior management team in late 2015 to lead Elanco R&D.

He began his career in industry at Lilly in 1990 as a medicinal chemist working to discover pharmaceuticals to treat cardiovascular disorders, following an undergraduate program at University of Illinois where studied organic chemistry.
