Shaina Craige, DVM, MPH, currently serves as an Advisor in International Government Affairs at Elanco, starting January 2024. Previously, Shaina held the position of Senior Specialist at USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, where support was provided to the Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) on knowledge management and monitoring related to livestock and One Health concerns. Additionally, during the tenure as an AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow at USAID, Shaina advocated for One Health approaches, investigated outbreaks such as African Swine Fever, developed gender equality toolkits, and collaborated with esteemed institutions on livestock-related humanitarian efforts. Prior experience includes roles as a Relief Veterinarian at VetIQ Staffing and an Associate Veterinarian at Houston Veterinary Hospital, where responsibilities included diagnosing and treating small animals. Shaina holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science from Southern University and A&M College.
