Diana Guerrero

Associate Director, Programmes Planning and Operations at EMpower

Diana Guerrero is the Associate Director of Programmes Planning and Operations at EMpower. Diana has over four years of experience in the field of grant-making, with a focus on securing aid for smallholder farmers, migrants and refugees.

Previously, Diana worked as a Senior Program Operations Officer at the Open Society Foundations, where they coordinated grants’ team support efforts and was responsible for driving excellence in grants administration. During their time at the Open Society Foundations, Diana also engaged with the CFO on impact-investing fund.

Diana has played a key role in the successful grant-making process by promoting best practices and compliance, in addition to creating a workflow encompassing learning opportunities, exit strategies and redesign of procurement guidelines. Diana has also managed Salesforce reporting tool to equip staff with insights while ensuring grant management integrity.

Diana is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned their Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

Diana Guerrero pursued a Masters degree in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London. Diana also completed a Business Sustainability Management program from the University of Cambridge. For their Master's degree, they studied International Relations and Affairs at the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals. Her undergraduate degree is in Political Science with complementary studies in Economics and Theirtory from Universidad de Los Andes.

They are on a team with Kristen Woolf - VP, Programs, Daniel Parnetti - Senior Program Officer, Latin America, and Larry Bloom - VP, Global Operations & Finance. Diana Guerrero reports to Cynthia Steele, President & CEO.
