John Major

John Major is an accomplished high-performance coach currently serving at Yorkshire County Cricket Club since April 2022 and as an ECB Coach Developer since October 2020. With extensive experience in various coaching roles, Major has contributed significantly to the Yorkshire Cricket Board from April 2017 to April 2022, overseeing coaching and development for multiple age groups and focusing on community engagement. Prior to that, Major worked as a Cricket Development Officer at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, where the focus was on both women's and youth programs. Early coaching experiences include leading under-12 teams at The Old Elizabethans Cricket Club and assisting visually impaired players. Academically, Major holds a Master's degree in Sports Coaching and a Bachelor's degree in Cricket Coaching & Business Management from the University of Worcester, along with a Bachelor of Technology from East Riding College.
