Laurie Dening has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and software engineering. They currently work at Enveil as a Software Engineer and Software Lead. Prior to that, Laurie worked at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as a Cybersecurity & Software Engineer, where they supported staff career growth and mentored early career staff. They also transformed a legacy application into a web-based solution. Laurie also has experience working as a Cybersecurity Engineer at DISA and as a member of the Defensive Cyber Operations-Internal Defensive Measures team at JFHQ-DODIN, where they coordinated defensive strategies and led a team in developing and executing a cyber training exercise. Earlier in their career, Laurie worked as a 1550 Computer Scientist at DISA, contributing to the integration and upgrade of a mobile device management system and leading the Vulnerability Management Program. They also developed the implementation plan for the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution.
Laurie Dening obtained a BS/MS degree in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo between the years 2008 and 2012. In addition, Laurie has obtained certifications as a Certified Ethical Hacker from EC-Council in 2015 and as a CISSP from (ISC)² in 2013.
