Matthew Tresaugue is a communications professional with extensive experience in environmental advocacy and journalism. Currently serving as AVP of Communications and Political Affairs at the Environmental Defense Fund since March 2017, Matthew leads integrated communications efforts across various teams to advance national climate change initiatives and enhance public accountability. Prior roles at the Environmental Defense Fund include Senior Communications Director and Communications Director for Climate and Health, where Matthew developed strategic messaging and managed significant communications campaigns. Previous journalism experience includes serving as a senior reporter at the Houston Chronicle, where Matthew focused on environmental issues, and reporting positions at The Press-Enterprise and Ventura County Star, covering sports and higher education, respectively. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Arizona.
