Job Summary

The Sr Engineer for Propulsion System (EBU) Integration will be responsible for contributing to the conceptualization, design, integration and certification of the propulsion system build up, reporting directly to the Head of Integrated Propulsion Systems (IPS).  This role demands technical expertise to define and layout the integrated propulsion package which includes the integration of propeller system, motor and propulsion drive, associated sub systems, and nacelle structure and interfaces.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to deliver an integrated propulsion system that is reliable, efficient and meets all required certification requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define IPS system architecture, interfaces, and specifications to meet aircraft configuration requirements.
  • Create Technical Requirements Document for IPS (EBU) integration.
  • Carry out trade studies, as required, to align with aircraft configuration(s).
  • Create System Description and Interface Control documents.
  • Support FHA, SSA & FMEA for associated systems.
  • Provide direction for propulsion sub system installation design and integration.
  • Lead Supplier identification, engagement and down select activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years in the aerospace industry within an aircraft or OEM environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of nacelle design, system integration, and aerospace CFR Part 25 and/or CFR Part 33 certification processes.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical challenges through innovative solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Desired Attributes:

  • Prior experience working with turboprop aircraft.
  • Prior experience in an aerospace start-up or with (electric) aircraft development.
  • Ability to design with CATIA V5/V6 software.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute projects from concept through to certification and production.
  • A strong passion for innovation in aviation and a commitment to advancing sustainable transport solutions.
