Jacob B. Schwarz

Jacob B. Schwarz is the current head of Chemistry at ESCAPE Bio. Jacob has over twenty years of experience in the field of chemistry, and has worked for some of the biggest names in the industry.

Schwarz started their career as a graduate student at Colorado State University, where they studied under some of the world's leading chemists. After graduation, they took a position at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where they worked on developing new cancer treatments.

From there, they went to work for Pfizer Global R&D, where they rose through the ranks to become a Senior Principal Scientist. In this role, they were responsible for developing new drugs and overseeing clinical trials.

After a decade at Pfizer, Schwarz moved to Genentech, where they continued their work on developing new drugs. Jacob spent eight years at Genentech before moving to ESCAPE Bio in 2017.

At ESCAPE Bio, Schwarz is responsible for leading a team of chemists in developing new drugs and therapies. Jacob has helped the company make significant progress in its efforts to develop new treatments for cancer and other diseases.

Jacob B. Schwarz received a PhD in organic chemistry from Colorado State University and a BS from Michigan State University.

They work with Brian Edquist - Vice President – R&D Operations, Mari Maurer - VP, Clinical Operations, and Anthony M. Rimac - Chief Financial Officer. Jacob B. Schwarz reports to Julie Anne Smith, President & Chief Executive Officer.
