Allison Coughlan

Head of Enterprise Risk at eShopWorld

Allison Coughlan is currently the Head of Enterprise Risk at eShopWorld. Allison has over 20 years of experience in compliance and risk management, including positions at CIT Group Inc and HSBC.

Allison began their career in risk management at CIT Group Inc in 2009, where they held various positions over the next 7 years. In January 2011, they were promoted to Director and Head of European Compliance, with responsibility for compliance across CIT's European locations. In this role, they oversaw all programme elements including Financial Crimes, Privacy, Conduct Rules, Training and Regulatory Relationship Management. In June 2011, they were promoted to SVP, Head of Compliance Management Systems, Corporate Compliance. In this role, they were responsible for developing and leading the global strategy relating to compliance & BSA AML risk assessments, testing, training, management reporting, headcount and operational expense management/planning and regulatory updates.

In December 2016, Allison left CIT Group Inc to join HSBC as the Global Head of Financial Crimes Compliance. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing the bank's financial crimes compliance programme globally. Allison also led a team of financial crime compliance professionals located in over 30 countries.

Allison joined eShopWorld in 2019 as the Head of Enterprise Risk. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing all aspects of risk management for the company.

Allison Coughlan has a professional diploma in compliance from the IOB and a bachelor's degree in economics from University College Dublin. Allison is currently a certified director with the Institute of Directors (IoD).
