Marek Waskiewicz

Marek Waskiewicz is an experienced finance and economics professional currently serving as Acting Principal for EFSD & UIF Guarantees at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) since May 2014. In this role, Marek oversees operational and strategic aspects of key guarantee programs, including pipeline management, project-level guarantee agreement structuring, and compliance with EU requirements. Marek's background includes roles such as Associate at EBRD’s Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility and Economic Analyst in the Office of the Chief Economist, contributing to research and policy strategy in Central and Eastern Europe. Earlier experience includes an analyst position at the National Bank of Poland, a traineeship at the European Commission, and internships at The Work Foundation and Kredyt Bank. Marek holds a Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Essex, complemented by an Erasmus program at the University of Mannheim.
