Gaetano Chionsini

Gaetano Chionsini has extensive experience in the fields of statistics and economics, currently serving as the Head of Statistics at the European Banking Authority since May 2012, after previously holding the position of Senior Statistician. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Economist/Statistician at Banca d'Italia - Eurosistema from 2001 to 2012, and as a credit analyst at Banca di Credito Popolare Soc Coop per Azioni between May 1998 and August 2001. Gaetano's career also includes military service as an officer in the Italian Army from January 1995 to April 1998, where the role involved commanding a tank platoon. Gaetano Chionsini holds a degree in Economia e commercio from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II and a PhD in Gestione bancaria e finanziaria from Sapienza Università di Roma.
