Colm Gaynor is an Adjunct Full Professor of Veterinary Public Health at University College Dublin since October 2010 and currently serves as Chairman of the One Health Scientific Advisory Committee within the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. Gaynor has extensive experience in leadership positions, having been a Director at the European Commission from September 2002 to April 2010, overseeing the Health and Food Audits and Analysis Directorate. Previously, Gaynor held the role of Chief Veterinary Officer in Ireland from September 1993 to September 2002. Additional contributions include chairing the National Committee for the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific Purposes and the Scientific Advisory Committee on Animal Health and Welfare. Gaynor's educational background includes multiple degrees in veterinary medicine, law, and management from renowned institutions including Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.
