Carolyn Lefley

Programme Leader In Photography And Associate Lecturer at Exeter College

Carolyn Lefley has extensive work experience in the field of photography and art. Carolyn has worked as an Associate Lecturer in Photography at Exeter College since 2022. Prior to this, they were a Community Art School Producer and Trustee at Yeovil Art Space starting in 2019.

For the majority of their career, Carolyn worked as a Freelance Photographer, Artist, and Educator since 1999. Carolyn has been involved in various creative workshops and talks delivered in universities, colleges, schools, and community settings. Their work has been widely published and exhibited in London and nationally.

Carolyn has also held commissioned artist roles at Somerset Art Works, where they completed a photography and video project titled 'Ancient Sea' for the Somerset Art Weeks Sanctuary festival. Additionally, they served as a Lead Artist for the Woolaway Reminiscence Project in collaboration with Somerset Art Works and Somerset West and Taunton Council.

Furthermore, Carolyn has held artist residency roles at Somerset Art Works and Yeovil Country Park, as well as Timespan Museum and Arts Centre. Carolyn has also worked as a Visiting Artist at Bruton School for Girls and held lecturer roles at the University of Hertfordshire and Coventry University in photography.

Overall, Carolyn Lefley possesses a diverse range of experience in photography, art education, and community engagement.

Carolyn Lefley completed their Fine Art Bachelor's degree from the Coventry School of Art and Design, Coventry University, between 1997 and 2000. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Photography at the University of West London from 2005 to 2006. Later, they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching for Higher Education from the University of West London between 2007 and 2008.
