Matthew Felgate

Matthew Felgate is an experienced geologist with expertise in various geological sectors, particularly in exploration and production. At ExxonMobil, from March 2019 to August 2022, Matthew served as a Senior Geologist in New Ventures, cataloguing geological opportunities in the Asia Pacific region, and worked closely with national oil companies and government agencies. Prior to that position, Matthew provided strategic insights as a Competitive Intelligence Advisor and operated as a Senior Production Geologist focused on the Gippsland basin. Earlier experiences include roles at The University of Melbourne, where Matthew contributed as a Laboratory Assistant, a Teaching Assistant, and a Geochemistry PhD student, engaging in various geochemical techniques and research projects. Matthew's career began as an Exploration Geologist at Venture Minerals Limited, focusing on the Mt Lindsey tin-tungsten deposit. Matthew holds a PhD in Geochemistry from Melbourne University and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Durham University.
