Karim Karoui

Karim Karoui is the Group Head of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) at FAB. Karim was previously the Chief Financial Officer at First Gulf Bank from June 2001 to March 2017. During their time at First Gulf Bank, they were responsible for developing the organization strategy, preparing and managing the annual budget, developing the strategy for the Financial Control and Business Planning Group, leading Investor Relations, and raising funds. Karim was also a member of all Management Committees at FAB. In 2015, 2014, and 2012, they were awarded No 1 Middle East CFO by Middle East Investor Relations Society. In 2017, they co-led the acquisition by FAB of Dubai First, a Dubai based Consumer Finance company for a total deal value of US$ 163 million.

Karim Karoui studied accounting and finance at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (IHEC) in Carthage, Tunisia. Karim also holds a baccalaureate in mathematics and science from the Lycee de Carthage Presidence.

Karim Karoui reports to Hana Al Rostamani, Group CEO & Head of Personal Banking. They are on a team with Martin Tricaud - Group Head of Investment Banking, Nurendra Perera - Group Chief Audit Officer, and James Burdett - Group Chief Financial Officer.
