Pieter Coulier is the Co-Founder and CTO of Fabri, where they are currently leading innovations in additive manufacturing. Prior to this role, Pieter served as a Senior Simulation Engineer and Principal Software Engineer at Velo3D, specializing in thermo-mechanical simulation software for metal 3D printing. They held several prestigious postdoctoral research positions, including at Stanford University and KU Leuven, where they focused on developing advanced numerical methods for large dynamic soil-structure interaction problems. Pieter earned their Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, achieving summa cum laude, and has a strong foundation in interdisciplinary research combining engineering, computer science, and mathematics.
