Margarita Echeverria possesses extensive experience in the field of sports law and governance, holding significant roles within various organizations. Since June 2017, Margarita serves as a member of the Ethics Committee at FIFA. Margarita has been the Secretary General of the Federación Costarricense de Fútbol since October 2016 and has been involved with CONCACAF as a member of the Disciplinary Tribunal since June 2016. Additionally, Margarita has been a member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) panel of arbitrators since January 2003, providing analytical judgment on applicable laws for final resolutions. Since 2003, Margarita has also acted as a consultant for the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) and other sports organizations, specializing in sports management education. Margarita holds a degree in Law with a focus on Sports Law from Universidad de Costa Rica, earned between 1985 and 1991.
