Douglas O. Nelson

Douglas O. Nelson is the Vice President at Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Douglas has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry and has held various leadership positions in leading companies such as Centene Corporation, MITRE, and Tapestry Solutions.

Nelson started their career as a Principal Engineer & Enterprise Architect at MITRE where they worked on projects for the Air Force and USTRANSCOM. Douglas then became the Principal Multi-Discipline Systems Engineer before leaving to join Tapestry Solutions as their Chief Engineer/CTO. At Tapestry, they led a team of engineers in developing software solutions for the US Military.

In September 2016, Nelson joined Centene Corporation as their Staff Vice President IT, Architecture & Engineering. Douglas led the company's digital transformation and was responsible for their next generation core health plan administration systems. Douglas also oversaw the integration of multiple IT platforms from acquisitions and created long-term technical roadmaps. During their time at Centene, they also drove the company's core system to public cloud migration strategy.

Nelson has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University.
